Screening of the award-winning film about “Nzara ‘76”, featuring a special video introduction by Dr. Michael Osterholm, the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP). The screening will be followed by discussion with director Jon Noble and infectious disease expert Dr. Alison Galdys, MD.
Film Synopsis: An unknown outbreak rips through the border between Sudan and Zaire. The responding team of doctors discovers a horrific disease from which few survive. Tasked with tracking the mysterious illness, two doctors are caught between a small town’s cultural and spiritual beliefs and the extreme measures needed to stop the disease’s spread.
